Previous Events
“Oud Without Borders” is an innovative musical endeavor led by Samir Nasr Eddine, a highly skilled Lebanese Oud virtuoso and composer. This project aims to explore the versatility of the Oud, an iconic Arabic instrument, by fusing it with various musical styles from around the world. By incorporating Classical, Latin, Flamenco, Jazz, and other genres, “Oud Without Borders” pushes the boundaries of traditional Oud music while preserving the instrument’s authentic oriental essence.
At the heart of this project are the original compositions by Samir Nasr Eddine, which form the majority of the extensive repertoire. These compositions reflect his vision and showcase the fusion of different musical traditions with the Oud as the central voice. Alongside these original works, the project also features well-known Arabic and world music standards, further highlighting the global appeal and cross-cultural nature of “Oud Without Borders.”
“Oud Without Borders” offers a musical experience that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries. By merging the rich heritage of the Oud with diverse musical styles, this fusion project creates a harmonious dialogue between different traditions, showcasing the universal language of music.
“Beirut-Express” is the result of a concert organized by Dida Guigan in Lausanne after the terrible explosion that hit the Lebanese capital in 2020. Touched by the generosity of the musicians and the enthusiasm of the public, the Lebanese-Swiss who grew up in Cully decided to expand the project beyond the unique event. A project built and designed as a tribute to the Arab heritage in jazz.
